I just finished my review copy of ‘Friends with Benefits‘ written by Darren Barefoot and Julie Szabo and I must say that it is a solid handbook on social media marketing for the first timer.
Darren and Julie start by covering the basics of social media marketing and use their experience in running Capulet Communications to give solid advise on running a blogger relations program, doing damage control on social media, and measuring social media ROI. Then, they go onto discuss how to use specific platforms like MySpace, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter as part of the social media marketing mix. It’s all good advice and first time social media marketers will do well to use it.
To get a flavor of ‘Friends with Benefits’, download chapter 4 on netiquette as a free PDF or check out the companion blog.
